Left Hand Bear is a small online retailer, but one created by a passionate left-handed active musician (Simon Middleton, singer and guitarist of UK acoustic roots band The Proposition) with a real commitment to providing great quality left-handed instruments at very competitive prices to UK southpaws.

All our instruments are quality checked and despatched personally by the Left Hand Bear team before despatch to you (nothing goes direct from factory without coming to our workshop first for quality checking and final set-up).

Everything we sell carries a full one year's warranty. Warranty claims can be made for manufacturer's faults only. Our warranty provides for full examination of any apparent faults occurring in the first 12 months after purchase and correcting of those faults in our workshop. Cost of shipping to our workshop is borne by the customer. If faults cannot be rectified then a replacement instrument may be offered. Wear and tear is taken into consideration when offering a replacement instrument. No responsibility can be taken for damage caused through careless or rough handling, misuse or abuse of any kind, including (but not limited to) damage through heat, damp or impact.

We try to be highly competitive in our pricing. Many of our instruments are hard or impossible to find in UK stores, and our service standards are very difficult to match. However, as an added reassurance we also make a price promise: if you can find an identical make and model instrument (left-handed) with the same specification for a lower total price (including shipping), from a genuine dealer, then we will try our very best to match that price every time.

Left Hand Bear is VAT registered and all prices shown will include VAT where applicable.

You might be able to find an instrument that is apparently cheaper to import yourself, and we can't price-match that. But do bear in mind that you have to pay import costs, duties and VAT on top of those prices for instruments you bring into the UK yourself.

Current delivery times range from 48 hours to 5 days for items straight from our workshop, to 14-21 days for instruments coming to us from GoldTone's workshop in Florida. 

We try our best to keep stock up to date at all times. If you need your instrument urgently and wish to check that we have an item in stock before you order please emailchief@lefthandbear.co.uk first, or call us on 01603 305800.

Please note that we never ever drop-ship: Gold Tone instruments are assembled and finished in Florida USA. Each one is then shipped to us and we check every instrument and do a final finish and set-up before shipping to you. 

If you are unhappy with your order in any way we provide full no quibble refunds.

Overseas customers are responsible for their own personal import duties and any local sales taxes.

Please note that we reserve the right to alter prices at any time, and the price shown on the website at the time of purchase is the price payable for the particular item. Prices shown on our e-newsletter or other publicity materials may be time-limited or limited to while stocks last. Please check the website for the correct price on any instrument or other product.

Rest assured that any instrument bought from Left Hand Bear can be returned (in perfect condition of course) within 7 days of delivery to the customer having been signed, for a full refund or exchange. Refunds will be issued following a full inspection of the returned item to ensure that it is in as-sold condition. Refunds may take up to 30 days to complete, in line with current distance selling regulations.

If you've changed your mind about the instrument then we will only charge you the return carriage costs. If the instrument is has a manufacturer's defect then of course will refund the carriage cost as well.

The above is in addition to your statutory rights.

Under no circumstances can we accept returned goods for refunds later than 7 days after they have been signed for.

Any fraudulent claims for undelivered or deliberately damaged items will be treated seriously and reported to the police. We will always prosecute thieves.

We will generally only deliver to the billing address on the credit card and we will not ship to any other address where we suspect that there is a possibility of fraudulent activity.

The address below is a workshop not a shop and sales will not be made at that address. Instruments are stored at an undisclosed secure warehouse and no cash or stock is ever held at the address below.

Any personal details which you give to us when ordering from Left Hand Bear are never shared with any third party and are kept under secure conditions.

Please note that banjos and mandolins are generally priced with case or bag as optional extras (there are a couple of exceptions: check the individual product description). Guitars are generally priced with case/bag included (again please check the specific product description).

Some of the photographs of the Left Hand Bear guitar range are used courtesy of Gold Tone Inc. A few of these show right-handed instruments reversed to indicate left-hand models: but please note all instruments sold by Left Hand Bear are genuine left-handers. In due course (as new stock arrivals allow) all photographs will be replaced with pictures of our particular left-handed instruments.
